The ancient Palazzo has been restored to its ancient splendour and is an exclusive Inn overlooking one of the most beautiful squares in town, Piazza San
Francesco boasting a splendid view across the Orcia Valley.
BED & BREAKFAST:
Locanda di San Francesco hasonly four rooms offering accommodation with a unique atmosphere created by the antique furnishings and the breathtaking views.
Two rooms and two suite are situated on the first floor and are fitted with independent air conditioning, mini-bar, satellite television 21” LCD, DVD Player, telephone and internet connection.
Beds are queen or king size and each room is personalised by sophisticated and exclusive furnishings.
High quality parquet and elegant fabrics complete the atmosphere.
The 'stanza segreta', that now completes one of the two suites, was discovered during restoration.
It is a cosy evocative sitting room with view onto the Val D’Orcia and two stone walls that once formed part of the bell tower of the church of San Francesco.
The roomy bathrooms have large windows with the same views that can be admired from the rooms.
WINE BAR:
The wine bar-bistrot '…e lucevan le stelle', under the same ownership as La Locanda, is situated in the same building that faces onto Piazza San Francesco.
You can taste prized Tuscan wines, well-know Italian and French wines, and some
of the best specialities of the local cuisine in the wine bar.

* comimg from the north along the Autostrada del Sole A1 Florence-Rome toll road, exit gate at Valdichiana-Bettolle and follow road signs towards Montepulciano via Torrita di Siena (approx. 20 km).
* comimg from the south by the Autostrada del Sole A1 Rome-Florence toll road, exit gate at Chiusi - Chianciano Terme and follow road signs to Chianciano and Montepulciano (approx. 20 km).
** Once in Montepulciano follow signs for Piazza Grande along Via Ricci to Piazza San Francesco.
- by train:
Chiusi railway station in the Rome-Florence line and coach links to Montepulciano.
- by plane:
nearest airports are in Florence, Pisa or Rome.
