Description:
The old fifteenth century building that houses the Residenza Antica Canonica rises up from within the old town of Città di Castello, right beside the Cathedral.
The building was originally used for accommodating the canons of the Cathedral: bearing witness to this far gone era, the imposing doorways have remained in the corridor, that still allow for access to the Cathedral today as they did then.
Throughout the residence, an atmosphere of times gone by still prevails, it has remained intact thanks to the restoration work that was respectful of the original structure. On the inside of the building we can admire the doorways made of pietra serena with ancient inscriptions, the lacunar ceilings and an important fresco from the 1500's that reproduces the famous Crucifixion by Raphael, which is today housed in the Louvre.
In this elegant relais of Città di Castello some interesting initiatives such as chamber music concerts and conferences are organised on a periodical basis.

In perfect harmony with the ancient building in which they are housed, these apartments are furnished with original visible beams and old style furniture , made of solid wood according to the ancient artisan's techniques that are typical of this location.
All of the apartments are equipped with a comfortable kitchen complete with a refrigerator and oven, pots, dishes, cutlery and everything that may prove necessary for an intimate lunch or dinner.
THE APARTMENTS:
- Vasari and Gherardi are two roomed apartments for 2 persons, consisting of a living room with a single sofa bed, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom.
- Raffaello, Perugino, Signorelli, Ghirlandaio and Pinturicchio are two and three roomed apartments for 2+2 persons, consisting of a living room with a double sofa bed, kitchenette or kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
- Rosso Fiorentino apartment sleeps 4+2 people in a living room with a double sofa bed, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
- Piero della Francesca is an apartment for 6 people, consisting of a living room, a kitchen, three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Low Season: from November to March.
Middle Season: from April to August / from 10 september to 1 november.
High Season: August and 1/10 September, special Holydays
1 extra bed: € 12 per night; 2 extra beds: € 20 per night.
Children up to 5 years: free of charge.
The prices include all of the consumption of light, water and gas within each individual apartment, the use of the kitchenette or kitchen and a linen service.
Final cleaning service: € 15.00 per apartment.

to reach us:

- By car:
We will give special permits to guests who intend to arrive by car with which they will be able to access the old town. The Residence's private car park is situated in the square adjacent to the cylindrical bell tower.
- From Milan and Bologna exit at Cesena. Take the E45 highway in the direction of Perugia-Roma and exit at Città di Castello (North or South), then follow the signposts for the city centre.
- From Rome, exit at Orte. Take the E 45 highway in the direction of Perugia-Cesena and exit at Città di Castello (North or South), then follow the signposts for the city centre.
- From Florence: A1 motorway, exit at Arezzo, direction: Città di Castello.
- From Fano and from the Adriatic take the E 78 highway (Flaminia) and the state road SS 257.
- By train:
We are pleased to offer our guests free transfers from the station to the Residence and vice versa.
- On the Florence-Rome line you can get out at Arezzo (all trains stop here except for the Eurostar) and proceed by bus (Autolinee Sita ) until arriving at Città di Castello.
- F.C.U. Line Sansepolcro-Terni: in correspondence with the State railway lines, it crosses the whole of Alta Valle del Tevere.
- By plane:
Residenza Antica Canonica offers its guests a minibus transfer service to and from the airport.
Umbria international airport "Sant'Egidio" is situated just 50km from us. To reach Città di Castello you can hire a car or take the train or the bus as far as Perugia and from there proceed to Città di Castello.
Other airports nearby are: Florence airport(130 km away), Rome "Fiumicino" airport (220 km from Città di Castello) and Forlì airport (105 km).
