Description:
Il Colombaiolo is located 500 metres from Pienza along the road that leads to the Val d’Orcia, at 400 metres from the church Pieve di Corsignano (both Pienza and the Val d’Orcia are inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List).
The Farmhouse is perfectly situated to offer its guests a panoramic view of Pienza and the Val d’Orcia, against the backdrop of Monte Amiata, and the villages of Radicofani, Castiglione d’Orcia, San Quirico d’Orcia, Montalcino and Monticchiello.
The Farmhouse Il Colombaiolo offers a furnished apartment of 100 square metres that sleeps four persons in two bedrooms (with views of the Val d’Orcia and Monte Amiata), with the option of adding two more beds in the master bedroom.
There’s one bathroom with a tub and separate shower, kitchen, sitting room, living room, and entryway.
There’s plenty of space for relaxing outdoors with lawn chairs, sun beds, deck chairs, garden tables and a large, well-equipped terrace.
Il Colombaiolo is a family-run property farm nestled in 30 hectares of land that is planted in olive groves, vineyards, grain, lawns and a vegetable garden.
The owner lives on the farm all year.
The farmhouse itself dates from the 15th century and it has been recently refurbished, providing guests with every comfort while they relax in the beauty of nature.
Guests have the opportunity to observe at close hand the various activities of a working farm, including plowing, sowing, and harvesting of grapes and wheat.
They are also welcome to assist the owners in harvesting the olives from which they produce an excellent, extra-virgin olive oil that is for sale at the farm.
In addition, the Agriturismo Il Colombaiolo is located in a natural reserve where guests may encounter pheasants, hare, various types of birds and deer, as well as the farm animals hens, cockerels, plovers, turkeys, ducks, geese and the friendly farm dogs.
At the agritourism it’s possible to take leisurely walks far away from road traffic, or simply pass relaxing moments stretched out by the pond, surrounded by lush, natural vegetation.
A vacation at the Agriturismo is one of the best ways to fully experience the delights of this property. |
How
to reach us:
- by car:
* take the Valdichiana exit from the A1 motorway gate (for those coming from the north), then follow signs towards Pienza.
-
* for those coming from the south, exit the A1 motorway gate at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme and follow the signs first for Montepulciano and then for Pienza.
When you get to Pienza, turn on the left, follow the signs to Monte Amiata, drive down towards the valley for about 1 Km.
** from Siena drive direction Rome along the via Cassia freeway for about 50 km and get out in San Quirico d'Orcia, taking the directions for Pienza, driving down towards the valley for about 1 km.
*** From all firections, follow the road signs for Monte Amiata and we are on the right, 500 metres away from the end of the city walls. |
